Airfryer Apple Crumble

Apple crumble is an irresistible combination of crisp, caramelized apples and a golden, crunchy topping made from oats, butter, flour, sugar and spices. This delicious dessert is an absolute favorite with many, and it's not hard to see why.
Serve this apple crumble hot or cold, on its own with a dollop of yogurt stirred with vanilla and lemon, or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Apple crumble is just as suitable for a cozy autumn evening at home as for a festive gathering with friends and family.
Plus, it's another easy one - it really does take less than 20 minutes to make and then another 20 minutes in the airfryer. Or a little longer in a conventional oven.

Ingredients
This recipe makes approximately 4-15 servings
Apple filling
500 g peeled diced apple
100 g sugar, preferably brown sugar
1 half teaspoon cinnamon filling
20 g cornstarch
Juice of one lemon
A little cinnamon to taste
Crumble:
250 g rolled oats
100 g sugar
100 g GF flour (I used 50 g. sticky rice flour and 50 g. tapioca)
A little cinnamon to taste. I used a small teaspoon.
170 g cold butter in cubes.
A handful of chopped almonds, walnuts or raisins.
Dip:
3 dl. neutral yogurt or Creme Fraiche
1-2 tbsp. sugar
juice and zest of half a lemon
Vanilla
Method
Peel and dice the apples.
Put them in a thick-bottomed saucepan and add all the other ingredients. Stir it all together.
Cook over medium heat until the apples are slightly tender and the cornstarch has evened out the juices released by the apples.
Mix all the dry ingredients and add the butter cubes. Crumble the dough with your hands so that the butter is distributed, but the dough should not be cohesive, it should be uneven and lumpy.
Spread the apple filling in the mold and spread the crumble on top.
Heat your airfryer to 180 degrees and bake the apple crumble for 20-25 minutes. I think there's quite a big difference between airfryers, as there is with ovens. Mine got 22 minutes and was nice and golden. Once the apples have been heated in the pan, just bake your cake until the crumble has colored and become crispy.
Serve your crumble warm, perhaps with a dip, which you make by mixing the ingredients as described above.
Tips and storage:
〰️ You can bake this apple crumble in a conventional oven. Then it needs 30-40 min. at 175 degrees hot air.
〰️ Replace the regular sugar with brown sugar or muscovado sugar. You can do this both in the apple filling and in the crumble dough.
〰️ Bake the apple crumble in small ramekins for cozy portion sizes.
〰️ The apple crumble is best warm, but can easily be baked beforehand and warmed before serving. It is of course also possible to serve it cold.
