Rice Krispie Bites
Preparation: >10 minutes Cooling time: 30 minutes Total: >40 minutes
Ingredients
This recipe makes approximately 14-16 servings
250 g. Rice Krispies, e.g. the gluten-free ones from Semper.
200 g. chocolate of your choice, e.g. with nuts.
Optional: a little flake salt.
Method:
Prepare a mold with baking paper. Mine measures 21x21 cm, but if it's smaller your snack will just be taller, and if your mold is bigger, the snack will be lower. Chop your chocolate and melt it in the microwave in intervals of first 10 seconds and when it starts to melt, then 5 seconds. Mix the puffed rice with the chocolate. Spread the mixture in the mold and sprinkle with flaky salt if desired. Chill the treats for approx. 30 min. in the fridge. Cut into appropriate pieces and enjoy your hard work in creating this delicious treat.
Tips and storage:
〰️ These bites will keep for up to 2-3 weeks in an airtight container in the fridge. But my guess is that they won't survive that long.
〰️ Twist this recipe 100 ways! I seriously think I can come up with 100 different variations of this delicious treat.
〰️ For Christmas, I might serve it like this, using chocolate with nuts. Perhaps decoratively topped with chocolate Santas, which are added before the mass sets. The same for Easter with Easter candy on top.
〰️ For Halloween, I might make a version where I use different colors of chocolate (orange, pink, green) to create a nice or "creepy" pattern.
〰️ I might drizzle some extra melted chocolate, Nutella or Pistachio butter on top in a nice pattern.
〰️ And I might add a little sprinkle of nuts, chopped Mars, Snickers or Daim either on top or in the "dough".
〰️ There are so many options to make both children and adults happy.
